WSECU

Andrea “… put in the thought and time to adapt her session to meet our event goals, creating a custom, relevant experience…”

Challenges
WSECU, a large credit union in Washington State, hosts an annual meeting for attendees with wide demographic and age ranges—from young people to retirees. Beyond sharing a business update with their members, the agenda includes a keynote speaker. The keynote directive: Combine entertainment, inspiration, and a “life lesson,” ideally with an angle related to community commitment. This year's theme: "Moments that Matter." All in less than 25 minutes—and all on the heels of a massive snowstorm.

Approach
Andrea Driessen customized her remarks to align with the requested parameters, and included short moments of interactivity, humorous and poignant stories, how-to’s, and downloadable learning tools.

Results
After the session, the meeting organizer wrote: “Andrea delivered a powerful message about mattering that left a lasting impact with our event attendees. She instantly grabbed the room’s attention with her warmth, and kept the audience engaged with a blend of compelling storytelling, two-way interactions and a sprinkle of data. Together, the components made for a memorable keynote with takeaways for every listener. Andrea put in the thought and time to adapt her session to meet our event goals, creating a custom, relevant experience. Bonus points for being an absolute pro and delight to work with, even when faced with significant travel challenges that felt insurmountable in the moment.” —Ann Flannigan, VP of Public Relations, WSECU
