Challenges

While the world was in lockdown during the COVID pandemic, King County Library (in the Seattle area) sought distinctive, interactive, meaningful, and actionable ways to engage their patrons online…especially their older populations.

Approach

To help meet those goals, they invited Andrea Driessen , who, through her online Gracenotes experience, built a bridge for participants to a deeper sense of meaning, connection, and belonging. And provided an actionable, relationships-building Gracenotes-writing method for helping themselves and others feel more connected and less anxious.

A light bulb is coming out of a box.

Results

After the session, the event organizer shared: “Andrea provided an encouraging, gracious  atmosphere for reflection and connection. I appreciated her gentle presence, and the opportunity to design a Gracenote that was a meaningful  moment both for me and for my loved one. Although the program was virtually delivered, Andrea’s light and warmth were palpable —highly recommended!” —Wendy Pender, Older Adults Program Coordinator, King County Library System (retired)
